In addition, corporate policy may prohibit the use of a hosted solution; for example, intellectual property restrictions typically do not allow corporate information to reside outside the owners’ network. Therefore, Escendo will be offering the Koomb platform as an off the shelf software product that can be downloaded or purchased on media or preinstalled on a turn-key hardware/software solution; Koomb appliance.Customization & IntegrationKoomb is a highly customizable and scalable platform that can be tailored to meet the needs of most customers. Additionally, some customers will require specialized product customization. For example, they may need to integrate with legacy infrastructure and applications. In addition, the majority of corporate customers will likely require user interface customization to achieve a corporate look-and-feel.Consulting & TrainingEscendo will seek contract work on international cooperation information technology projects that build upon the installed base of Koomb nodes that currently exist in the international Geoscience community in Central and South America. Escendo will seek multi-year development and implementation contracts that will further enhance and expand the application's Geoscience community. A number of opportunities area arising (2009~2010) with the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction Agency and the World Summit on the information Society (WSIS) that explores the strategic and policy relevance of telecommunications, broadcasting multimedia and information and communications technologies. The European Aid organization is very much involved in the Risk Assessment and Mitigation with the “Hazard Mitigation for Andean Community"project called PREDECAN. Their IT subproject has studied Koomb as a potential platform to interoperate with their IT system called SIAPAD, there will be opportunities to expand Koomb and address some of SIAPAD requirements in future PREDECAN projects.Maintenance & SupportEscendo Solutions offers world-class technical support services to ensure that our product exceeds our customers’ expectations. The maintenance and support will be available through variety of channels including email, phone, webinars, and our comprehensive product support site. Escendo’s helpdesk will provide the users with basic technical support such as operating instruction, troubleshooting, data restoration etc.The Helpdesk personnel consist of three major groups, first group will answer phone calls and will be trained to handle first level support – “how do I…” questions, configuration problems, access granting, data restoration requests and second level calls dispatching. The second and smaller group will handle escalated, second level calls – database administration problems, application specific calls, minor programming bugs and third level calls dispatching. Help requests that are not solved within SLA (service level agreement) time frame, and service calls that were not solved by the helpdesk second-level support team, will be escalated to the research and development engineers (third level).
